Fraser Island

Fraser Island is considered the largest sand island in the world. It’s located in Queensland about 240 km North of Brisbane.

On your way up, it’s well worth stopping by Noosa National Park just North of Sunshine Cost.

At Noosa

You can get to the Fraser Island by a ferry from either Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay. You can either drive your own 4×4 or sign up for a tour as I did.

I booked a room at Debbie’s place in Rainbow Beach and absolutely loved it. Highly recommended if you decided to start your trip from Rainbow beach.

At Debbie’s place. The guy behind my Golf is definitely better prepared for the trip

Debbie’s solar panel. With the amount of sunlight Queensland gets, you have to have this!

Our tour bus. At the beginning of the tour a guide asked if I could speak Mandarin, as most people in our group were from China.

Must have been a Dingo

At the end of my stay Debbie asked me if I’d already seen “the most beautiful place in Australia”, the Dunes at Great Sandy National Park! No, I had not. So she told me how to get there. I’m not sure about “the most beautiful”, but some of the views were really nice.
